AR State HOG Rally

2009 Arkansas State HOG Rally will be in Rogers Arkansas!!!

Our Presentation Rocked the Room!!!

I would like to thank Rogers Chamber Tom & Shannon, and Buck for an awesome video presentation. Christy & Scott from the Embassy Suites/John Q Hammond center for all there hard work and support in the presentation and our Rally booth. A big thanks to Jill OUR 2009 Rally Coordinator for all her guidance and the last minute necessities that put us over the top. To all the Chapter members who were there at the Voting Presentation. We showed them with out a doubt we had total support from Pig Trail , Rogers, and HOG Chapter 2075!! Last but not least appreciation to amazing Tim and all those that put together the presentation booklet and logo.

A special thanks to Paul & Susan for their on going support to our Chapter and the Rally.

This presentation took a tremendous amount of time from so many, extra time after their long work days thank you all.

Thank you HOG Chapter 2075 for stepping up in a BIG Way at the 2008 State HOG Rally in Fort Smith for all that volunteered. I know we had over 50 chapter members attend the Rally and I believe all of them I saw volunteering and working somewhere through out the Rally. We showed support unlike no other Chapter!! A special thanks to Mark Shaffer and all the Road Captains that took the guided rides and I mean took them, these rides would not have took place without HOG Chapter 2075 Road Captains.

I can not express how much I appreciate being a part of this awesome Chapter! I had several people tell me that our unity and excitement is contagious. Everywhere they saw us gathered it was a roaring good time of brother and sisterhood.

We will be having a Volunteer Appreciation Party coming up here with in the month.

Thank you All! HOG Chapter 2075 is Brother and Sisterhood everyone saw it and knows it!!

Rick

Thanks for the help!

A very special note of gratitude for all of the help in Ft. Smith this weekend. It was definitely a proud moment for HOG Chapter 2075 - and especially our Road Captains. I'm quite certain that we had more than a total of 50 volunteers from NWA to assist in the Rally. But if it hadn't been for you guys - I'm not sure there would have been any guided rides! Thanks for stepping up and showing our true colors. It was great preparation for next year, when we will rock the socks off of all those who attend. A very special thank you goes to the following Road Captains - please be sure to thank them when you see them as they are the ones who really represented us well and helped to make Ft. Smith a successful Rally:

Mike Pitzl
Marley Phillips
Floyd Van Pool
Doug Gay
Tom Phillips
Mark Claassen
Steve Hafliger
Roger Kidd
Mark Lucas

Thanks guys - your time and effort are much appreciated!

Mark

Edith Felter, 91 The Ride!!

As some of you know, several members of the HOG Chapter participated in Edith Felter’s (age 91) “list of firsts”. On that list was a desire to ride a motorcycle. The program was put out from Rick Neal of Wal-Mart and HOG member Bob Blumenstein was given the call (by Rick) to have Edith as his passenger. Bob put out the word and, subsequently, so did the HOG chapter. So Thursday, June 12, Edith took her first motorcycle ride. Bob had a jacket, gloves, helmet for Edith. And she was sporting a HD bandana as a doo rag. When Bob zipped up the jacket Edith exclaimed, “Now, I’m all leathered up!”

Bob Blumenstein asked me to lead the pack. We left the Senior Citizen’s Center on So. Walton in Bentonville, traveled through Rogers to Highway 12. We then took 12 to the 127 cutoff, rejoined 12 to Highway 23 where we stopped at the Phillips 66 station. We then returned via Hiway 12 back to the Senior Citizen’s Center. We had 10 bikes total and 13 riders including Edith and traveled about 70 miles.

Bob mentioned that at first Edith held on to him ‘like an Anaconda!’ However, by the end of the ride she had relaxed, kicked back and was enjoying the scenery. At the end of the ride, just as at the beginning, Edith was greeted by her friends and fellow volunteers at the center.

Edith said she could get used to riding a motorcycle and might even become a motorcycle momma!

Thanks go out to Rick Neal for putting the program together and to Bob Blumenstein for getting the initial word out. And, thanks, too, of course, to the various riders from Wal-Mart and our HOG Chapter who took time from their schedules to participate in this fun and meaningful event for Edith Felter.

There were some pictures taken and are posted in HOGS in the Community.

New Entertainment Announced at the 105th

Harley Davidson has just announced some new entertainment for the 105th on their web site. The new acts will be The Foo Fighters with special guest Three Days Grace. Per the site, tickets for this event go on sale May 31. There isn't a time or a format yet on how to order tickets so if you're interested, check the site 105th ticket web site often.

Million Mile Monday

I just checked the Million Mile site and HOG members topped out at 3,000,960 miles!

The odometer was stuck at just under 3,000,000 for quite a while during the night of the 30th so I'm picturing a lot of riders from Hawaii and Guam riding around in a LOT of circles to put the ride over the 3,000,000 mark.

There are also some fun factoids on the Million Mile page (members.hog.com) to put that distance in to perspective.

Chapter 2075 participated and the pictures of the event are in the 2075 Happenings 2 section.
