Those of you who were at the
June member's meeting got to hear a presentation from chapter member Steve
Ridenour. He is also a member of the Tahlequah OK American Legion and
participates in the Legacy Run each year to benefit the children of soldiers
killed since 9/11 serving our country in the war on terror. Steve pays
all of the expenses that it costs him to participate in this event but
is reaching out to you to make a pledge to help the children of the soldiers.
If you would like to make a pledge, you can download the form for Steve
here.
Steve also noted that groups are welcome to ride with them for a period
if they have made previous arrangements. I have posted the waiver
form so you can download it from this site. The Legacy
Run Website has a lot more information than I can possibly include
here so please visit their site if you have questions or are interested
in sponsoring or even participating. Steve will also be able to field
any questions you have about the event. He can be contacted at ridenours@sbcglobal.net.
He will leave Oklahoma on 16th of August 2008 to ride to Indianapolis
which is the starting point for the run.
Update from Steve on 8/18/08:
I hope folks help out. End of first day total was $149,000.00 of the
$350,000. Riders from 34 states have signed up for the run. To make a
donation on line go to web https://join.legion.org/legacyrun/
Help support our effort to insure those who gave their lives for freedom
that their children may have a chance for a college education.
